AAF NASHVI LLE MISSON STATEMENT THE AMERICAN ADVERT IS ING AWARDS The mission of the American Advertising Federation Nashville (AAF Nashville) is to expose members to visionary issues relative to the advertising/communications industry while creating opportunities for networking, learning, service and individual recognition. The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting nearly 30,000 entries every year in local AAF Ad Club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the AAF-Nashville American Advertising Awards is the first of a threetier, National competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie for recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local winners from Nashville compete against other winners from other cities in Tennessee, as well as cities in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. AAF District 7 ADDY winners will be announced and recognized at the AAF District 7 AAA Ceremony, Saturday, May 21st, 2022 in Gulf Port, Mississippi. 2022 NASHVI LLE AMERICAN ADVERTISING AWARDS 6 CREAT IVES OF THE YEAR ART DI RECTOR OF THE YEAR JONATAN MALDONADO SVP, Executive Creative Director at Buntin Jonatan’s award-winning creative career has taken him from Ecuador to Argentina and, 12 years ago, ultimately to the U.S. Along the way, he has helped major brands, such as Chick-fil-A, Comcast Xfinity, Ford and JCPenney, create strong emotional connections with their audiences through ideas that bring people together. As a creative director, he has focused on providing the right environment in which creatives can produce their best work. His own work has been recognized at every level by just about every award platform: One Show, Art Directors Club, One Screen Short Film Festival, Webbys, New York Festivals, Jay Chiat, Effies, ADDYs, ANA’s Multicultural Experience and many others – as well as in numerous trade magazines, on art & photography websites – and is currently on display at the Poster House Museum in New York City. On weekends, he takes photos, plays guitar and goes mountain biking – but not all at the same time.

7 COPYWRI TER OF THE YEAR JARED OWENBY Copywriter at Buntin I’m Jared Owenby, a copywriter, musician, runner and curious individual with an easy laugh. I’ve lived many places, and I currently live in Nashville. But I call the Carolinas home. I received a BA in Journalism from the University of South Carolina, where I wrote for “The Daily Gamecock,” “Garnet & Black” and “The State” newspaper. After graduating, I attended the Creative Circus in Atlanta, where I went through the copywriting program and made a bunch of fake ads. Since then, I’ve worked at a handful of agencies all over the country, making a bunch of real ads in diverse fields, from healthcare and telecommunications to tourism and packaged goods.
