1 President’s Letter This year has been the year of challenges and changes with PPAS. Thank you for your patience, as we are working to advance and strengthen our commitment to you, our members. I would like to introduce the PPAS Board of Directors: John Browning — President, Steve Meyer — VP, John Bagwell — Treasurer, Chuck Wingate — Secretary, and Kyle Krause — Ex officio. Board members: Robert DeVeau — Professional Development, Tracey Barton — Marketing, Julia McDonald Ward — Social, Gary Rugoff — Philanthropy, Lauren Balazs — Luncheon, and Jarod Thorndike — Technology. To date, in 2017, we have had many successful events, here is a little recap. In February, PPAS had a booth at the ASI Dallas show and obtained several new members. We have had luncheons/programs in February and March. In April, PPAI and PPAS hosted a Tour and Education Day at PPAI Headquarters. The theme was “#Get in Touch”. In May and June were additional luncheon/programs with Anne Stone, PPAI, giving us a “Virtual Tour of China Factories,” and Jim Rictuccia, A+ Wine, giving pointers on “Creating Better Distributor/Supplier Relations”. Also in June, the traditional Oklahoma Tables Tops were a big success in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. July was the Indoor Picnic with great supplier tabletops and a lot of fun! With the summer closing out, PPAS was at the Sage show on September 1st at the Irving Convention Center; all reports say it was a great success. The Holiday Review took place on Sept. 26 — Little Rock, Sept. 27 —Tulsa, Sept.28 —Oklahoma City and Sept. 29 —Grapevine. Because of your support, our attendance was up over 2016 numbers. Our annual business meeting was held at the October luncheon introducing our newly elected board of directors for 2018. The November meeting will be our Associations Appreciation event along with a membership vote to accept the revised by-laws and revised Certificate of Formation. We encourage all the past Presidents to attend and be recognized, along with the new Board members, our volunteers and our beloved veterans. The year ends with our Holiday Party on December 7th, with a casino night. It will be a fun evening of food, drink, fellowship and the opportunity to sharpen your favorite poker skills. Thank you all for being part of the PPAS family! John Browning PPAS President
